Plot 65 on the Axmouth Tithe Map is recorded as 'Pond Meadow' within the Tithe Apportionment.

A watercourse is shown running adjacent to the northern boundary of the field.

The field name 'Pond Meadow' within plot 65 on the Axmouth Tithe Map of 1842 may indicate the proximity of the land to a pond, although no features are depicted within this plot on the Tithe Map. A watercourse is shown adjacent to the northern boundary of the field on the First Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey Map, and a pond is shown beyond the northeast corner of the field on the Ordnance Survey MasterMap. It is therefore possible that the name 'Pond Meadow' refers to the waterlogged state of the land as a result of its close proximity to the watercourse.
