Garden of former Parsonage to St. Matthew, the author Edward Hyams lived here and wrote about the garden in his autobiographical book, An Englishman’s Garden. The garden is mainly on south-east side of the house with serpentine paths through mature trees and shrubbery around a central lawn. A greenhouse and terrace enclosed by tender planting to the south of the house. Outstanding planting rescued and enhanced by Mr and Mrs Hubbard. They also run a plant nursery in the area north-west of the ornamental garden.
