A curvilinear earthwork ditch, up to 12 metres in width, is visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 2005 and 2010, and is visible as a dark cropmark on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards. Although no field boundaries are depicted in this exact location on the available historic mapping, the ditch is similar in morphology to an earthwork 40 metres to the east, which corresponds to a field boundary depicted on the historic mapping. It is in keeping with the medieval character of fields in this area, and is tentatively interpreted as the relict remains of a removed field boundary, of probable medieval date, which appears to have passed out of use prior to the mid-19th century.
