A possible barrow or clearance cairn of later prehistoric date is visible as a possible mound defining the end of a relict field boundary. The mound is visible as an earthwork on digital images derived aerial photographs taken in 2001 and Lidar data captured from late 2006 to early 2007. The mound is not visible as a well defined earthwork and it seems probable that it simply represent the northern end of the relict earthwork bank; the southern end of the earthwork bank is visible as a similarly formed rounded terminus. The possible mound has been transcribed as part of the multi-period field system north of Littlecombe shoot and not mapped separately. The narrow trench on the east side of the earthwork described by the above authority is probably the ditch flanking a boundary bank, part of the multi-period field system, not a plough furrow.
