Full description

1788-1789, A Survey of the Estates of Charles Holmes Calmady Esqr and Pollexfen his wife Situate in the Several Counties of Somerset, Devon and Cornwall Survey'd in the Years 1788 and 1789 by R. Davis Lewknor Oxon. Langdon and Down Thomas. (Cartographic). SDV357799.

The plot is recorded as 'Well Park.'

Plot 210 is recorded as 'Well Park' within the Wembury Tithe Apportionment.


Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

There is no evidence for a well.

On the 1840 Wembury Tithe Map, Plot 210 is called 'Well Park' indicating the possibility of a nearby well, although no supporting evidence is shown on the Tithe Map, or the First and Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey maps. The name 'Well Park' is also recorded for this field on an earlier (1788-1789) estate map of Langdon and Down Thomas in Wembury.
