Plot 377 is recorded as 'Little Diverscombe and Pit' within the Axmouth Tithe Apportionment.

The field name 'Little Diverscombe and Pit' within plot 377 on the Axmouth Tithe Map of 1842 indicates the proximity of the field to a pit. A sub-circular feature is illustrated on this map, and coincides with the location of an 'Old Quarry' which is labelled and illustrated on both the First and Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey maps. The quarry is not illustrated on the Ordnance Survey Master Map, although its shape in plan has been preserved by an area of vegetation.
