Plot 544 on the Newton Ferrers Tithe Map of 1839 is recorded as 'Barn Park' within the Tithe Apportionment. No buildings are illustrated within the field on the Tithe Map, but the name may refer to a barn situated in the adjacent field to the north, on Wrescombe Farm.
