Plot 1017 on the Seaton and Beer Tithe Map of 1840 is recorded as 'Little Quarry Close' within the Tithe Apportionment. The field name is likely to relate to the proximity of the land to a number quarries which are both depicted on the Tithe Map, and recorded through field names from the Tithe Apportionment.
