Plot 1012 on the Seaton and Beer Tithe Map of 1840 is recorded as 'Quarry and Waste' within the Tithe Apportionment. There are four plots labelled 1012 which sit within a larger plot 1011 on the Tithe Map. The southernmost of these is labelled as an 'Old Chalk Pit' on both the First and Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey maps, the other plots are shown as vegetation. The remains of this pit are illustrated on the Ordnance Survey Master Map where they are labelled as 'Pit (disused).'
