Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Maps and Apportionments (Website). SDV349463.

Plot 1037 is recorded as 'Cross Close' within the Tithe Apportionment.

Pink, F., 2014, South Devon Coast Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey Desk-Based Assessment (Interpretation). SDV357736.

The field name 'Cross Close' within plot 1037 of the Seaton and Beer Tithe Map of 1840 may indicate the location of a cross within the vicinity, or may indicate land either belonging to, or situated close to, a church. It is however, also possible that this field name relates to the geographical location of the field as it lies between two cross-road junctions.
