Plot 282 on the Salcombe Regis Tithe Map of 1839 is labelled as a 'House and Garden' within the accompanying Tithe Apportionment. A building is shown within this location on both the First and Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey maps where it is labelled as 'Lonely Cottage.' A well is also labelled to the north of the house on the First Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map. The building is not present on the Ordnance Survey Master Map indicating that it had been demolised prior to 2015 and replaced by a larger building labelled as 'Seaward.'
