Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2014-2015, East and Mid Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV356883.

A probable extraction pit is visible as an irregularly-shaped earthwork, circa 30 by 35 metres across, on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured in 2010. No quarry is marked on the available historic mapping, although the pit corresponds to an irregular scrubby area that is depicted, suggesting that it had become disused by the late-19th century. It may be one of numerous former whetstone pits in this area.
