An 'Old Sand Pit' is depicted south of the road.

An earthwork pit is visible on both sides of the road.

The southern part of the pit appears to be filled with water.

A large irregular pit is visible as an earthwork on both sides of the road.

An ‘Old Sand Pit, marked on late-19th century maps, is visible as a large earthwork in two parts, circa 120 by 90 metres, on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured in 2010. A pond is visible in the southern part of the pit on aerial photographs from 1989 onwards.
