Summary

Parallel linear earthwork banks, circa 4 metres in width, are indistinctly visible on aerial photographs taken in 1947, although obscured by the tree canopy, but clearly visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2010. Their alignment is roughly cross-contour and they are interpreted as banks for fruit tree planting, which are likely to be post-medieval or 19th century in date. This field to the east of Upcott Farm was depicted as orchard on the late-19th century mapping.
