Full description
1826, Plans of Manors and Lands in the County of Devon. The property of Sir John Kennaway Bart Robert Dymond Land Surveyor, Exeter. 1825. (Cartographic). SDV357856.
A fort is labelled and illustrated within the south-west corner of plot D, which is labelled as 'Lower Fort Field.' The plot to the north is recorded as 'Upper Fort Field.'

Plot 526 to the north is recorded as 'Back Fort Field' within the Sidmouth Tithe Apportionmnet.

The fort is shown within the south-west corner of plot D, which is labelled as 'Lower Fort Field,' and sits to the north of Sidmouth Beach. Plot G, which is located further to the north, is recorded as 'Upper Fort Field' on the estate map, and is recorded as plot 526 on the later Sidmouth Tithe Map named 'Back Fort Field' within the Tithe Apportionment. The fort is not present on the Sidmouth Tithe Map of 1839.
