1826, Plans of Manors and Lands in the County of Devon. The property of Sir John Kennaway Bart Robert Dymond Land Surveyor, Exeter. 1825. (Cartographic). SDV357856.

The plot is labelled as 'Lower Fort Field.'

Plot 487 on the Sidmouth Tithe Map of 1839 is recorded as a 'Cricket Ground' within the accompanying Tithe Apportionment and a building is shown near the north-west boundary of the plot. The plot retains the same layout on both the First and Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey maps where it is labelled as a 'Cricket Field,' and a pavilion is labelled within the north-west corner of the field. A cricket field is still present in this location on the Ordnance Survey Master Map.
