Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Maps and Apportionments (Website). SDV349463.

Two buildings are depicted within Plots 156 and 157 on the 1839 Kingston tithe map and recorded as 'Garden' and 'Cottage and Garden', respectively, on the accompanying apportionment. A third building of a probable barn is depicted to the east.

The buildings are extant on the First Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s and labelled as 'Saltercrease'. Map object partly based on this source.

By the Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map of between 1904-06, the northern of the two buildings has been demolished, whilst that to the south appears to have been rebuilt. The barn to the east remains extant.
