Morris, J., 1985, Domesday Book: Devon (Part One), 1.60 (Monograph). SDV356768.
Bideford is recorded in Domesday Book as having 30 villagers, 8 smallholders and 14 slaves. It had land for 26 ploughs with 4 ploughs in lordship, 10 acres of meadow, 20 acres of pasture and 150 acres of woodland. It also had a fishery.
