Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Maps and Apportionments (Website). SDV349463.

Plot 1321 is recorded as 'Linhay and Yard' within the Bishopsteignton Tithe Apportionment. Plot 1322 to the east is recorded as 'Coles Barn Mead' within the Tithe Apportionment.

A long rectangular building is illustrated against the northern boundary of plot 1321 on the Bishopsteignton Tithe Map.

A long rectangular building is illustrated against the northern boundary of plot 1321 on the Bishopsteignton Tithe Map of 1839. The plot is recorded as a 'Linhay and Yard' within the Tithe Apportionment, and plot 1322 to the east is recorded as 'Coles Barn Mead.' Buildings of a similar alignment are shown in this location on the First and Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey maps and are labelled as 'Cole's Barn.' A new building is also depicted immediately to the south on these maps. The barn is not present on the Ordnance Survey Master Map indicating that it had been demolished prior to 2015, but the later building to the south is still present and labelled as 'Shute Farm.'
