Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on digital images derived from Lidar data captured between 2005 and 2010, to the northeast of Mount Pleasant. The site of the orchard is first symbolised on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. Aerial photographs of 1996 show that the orchard trees remain largely intact, although by 2000, these have been completely grubbed out. The earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, are, however, only clearly visible on Lidar images. The northeast to southwest aligned earthworks occupy an area of approximately 0.16 hectares of southwest facing slope within a small irregular shaped plot.
