A probable former quarry pit of possible medieval to 19th century date is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, as an earthwork hollow and later a cropmark on a west facing slope to the south-west of Ravenshayes. The cropmark does not correspond with any features depicted on the historic maps available to the survey and the quarry probably therefore passed out of use prior to the mid-19th century.
