A group of buildings are depicted within plot 73 on the Blackawton Tithe Map of 1840. Buildings are also depicted in this location on the First Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map where they are labelled as 'Higher Asherne Villa.' The building is depicted and labelled as 'Higher Asherne' on the Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map, although the range of buildings to the east are no longer depicted indicating that they had been demolished prior to this date. A similar arrangement of buildings is also depicted on the Ordnance Survey Master Map, but the building has now been divided into two, labelled as 'The Mews' and 'Strete Lodge.'
