Plot 91 on the Shaldon St Nicholas Tithe Map of 1843 is recorded as 'Kiln Orchard' within the Tithe Apportionment. The field name indicates the presence of a kiln within the vicinity, although nothing is depicted in this location on the Tithe Map. A semi-circular feature is, however, depicted within the south-east corner of this plot on the First and Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey maps and may represent the remains of a kiln. The feature is not present on the Ordnance Survey Master Map.
