Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2014-2015, East and Mid Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV356883.

A slight mound visible as a pale cropmark on aerial photographs of 1967 south of Jenny’s Portion, Bickleigh, might be caused by the remains of two former buildings, probably agricultural in function, depicted on the Tithe Map in this location. The structures are not depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25 inch map and were therefore probably removed between the 1840s and 1880s.
Alternatively, the possible mound might be natural in origin, a geological formation part of the scarp dropping to the Exe valley to the west.
