Former field boundaries of possible medieval origin were visible on aerial photographs as curvilinear cropmarks to the south of Up Exe Mill. The cropmarks corresponded in part to field boundaries depicted on the Tithe Map for Rewe. The cropmark which did not - a circa 60 metre long ditch to the north-west of the field – was probably evidence of a field boundary removed prior to the 1840s. The remaining was not depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25 inch map and therefore had probably been removed between the 1840s and 1880s. The boundary ditches probably survive as buried features.

Devon County Council, 2019, Google Earth Aerial Photograph Pilot Project, GE56 (Aerial Photograph). SDV363341.

(SS 93822 02086) Linears north-east of Thorveton Mill. A number of linear features through these fields are visible on the 2018 Google Earth aerial images. Some are likely to be Medieval boundaries. Boundaries depicted on the Tithe map are also evident and palaeochannels MDV64612 are also visible. (MDV29007, MDV64612, MDV110628, MDV110626).
