A possible leat or simple catch meadow of probable 19th to early 20th century date is visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s as an earthwork ditch on the south-facing combe slopes to the south of Court Barton, Thorverton. The ditch was probably an eastwards continuation of a channel depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25 inch map, following the eastern boundary of Court Barton. The ditch is circa 3 metres wide for circa 370 metres, much of its visible length, narrowing as it follows the contours around the ridge the south-eastern facing slopes before meeting the earthwork pit of a former quarry. The ditch was not visible on later images available to the survey and has probably been levelled.
