Full description

NMR, Untitled Source (National Monuments Record Database). SDV117474.

A Mesolithic pick in Exeter Museum is said to come from Peak Hill, approximately at SY110890; but possibly High Peak (SY104850) is meant (citing CBA).

Unknown, 1926, Untitled Source (Article in Serial). SDV117472.

Flints reported in 1926.

Ordnance Survey, 1950, Untitled Source (Site Visit). SDV117473.

The whole area is naturally flinty and it was impossible to trace any of the tools and so-called "Druid Stones".

Ordnance Survey, 1979, SY18NW1 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV117475.

Possibly the above refer to the flint industry site at Mutter's Moor despite their different locations, especially as the OS 1" 1809 shows that Peak Hill was the general name of Bulverton Hill (SY107891) and its 2 southern spurs, one to Pinn Beacon (sy098872) and the other to the modern location of Peak Hill (SY109869).

Exeter Archaeology, 2003, East Devon Heathlands Archaeological Survey, 22, Part 1; 155, Part 2: Gazetteer, Site No. 419 (Report - Survey). SDV101648.

A flint scatter is reported in this area in 1926. However, the NGR for this flint scatter may be erroneous.

Exeter Archaeology, 2003-2004, East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Archaeological Survey, Site No. 1897 (Archive - Survey). SDV351568.

Possible site of flint scatter, however, location appears confused.
