The present church, st michael's, was built in 1876 and occupies the site of a former one, said to have been erected by one of the walronds (burnham).

Parish church, built 1877 by hayward of exeter. Coursed stone with freestone dressing and slate roofs. Large church in early english/decorated style. North and south transepts. Tower at north-west corner in four stages. Chancel arch has marble shafts. Nave roof with braces. Contemporary furnishings including choir stalls and stone pulpit and font (doe).
