Full description
Pears, B. + de-Villiers, S. + Passmore, A., 2014, The Former Fremington Army Camp, Fremington, Devon: Results of an Archaeological Trench Evaluation and Historic Building Survey, Building 11 (Report - non-specific). SDV357013.
Accommodation building. Brick and clay block built. Gabled roof with corrugated asbestos sheeting. UPVC windows with concrete lintels, a few boarded up. 12 bays. Wooden double doors with a concrete block porch in the south-east elevation with corrugated asbestos roof. Double wooden doors in the north-west elevation. Single wooden door in south-west elevation in 2nd bay from north.
There is a room the full width of the building at the south-east end, then a large open hall with lockers, then there is a corridor to the north-west end with five rooms on the east and three on the west. On the west side are a shower room, toiltes and a kitchen. All the rooms off the corridor have plasterboard ceilings. The roof in the open hall is supported on metal frames with plasterboard.
