Full description
Pears, B. + de-Villiers, S. + Passmore, A., 2014, The Former Fremington Army Camp, Fremington, Devon: Results of an Archaeological Trench Evaluation and Historic Building Survey, Building 28 (Report - non-specific). SDV357013.
Brick built, gabled building under corrugated asbestos roof. Metal windows. 8 bays. Three sets of wooden double doors in the north-west elevation. Two have brick porches with flat corrugated asbestos sheet roofs. There is a double wooden door and a blocked (with concrete blocks) doorway in south-east elevation..
Internally there is a central door in north-west elevation leading to a large open room which contains a fridge and is labelled as the ration store. There are four rooms in the north-east end entered from doors in the south-east and north-west elevations. A single large room in the south-west end contains a fridge and is entered via a door in the north-west elevation. A bricked up doorway between this room and the central room. The roof is supported on metal frames with plasterboard.
