A linear earthwork bank, up to 10 metres wide, is visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014, and on aerial photographs taken from 2006 onwards. It corresponds to the putative southern side of a possible enclosure recorded in August 2014, but on checking more recent lidar-derived images it is clear that the ‘enclosure’ is simply several conjoining field boundaries of probable medieval date, most of which correspond to field boundaries depicted on the Tithe map. The exception on part of the southern side does however correspond to two dog-legs in the mapped boundaries and is probably contiguous with an east-west aligned boundary at its west end. The transcription relates only to this southern segment, interpreted as the remains of a medieval field boundary that fell out of use prior to the mid-19th century.
