The possible quarry is visible as an earthwork pit.

A possible quarry of uncertain date is visible as an earthwork pit and bank on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the north of Coombe Common. The earthwork pit is sub-rectangular in shape, measures approximately 92m in length by 42m in width and is flanked along its eastern edge by a linear bank approximately 10m in width. Whilst there is some uncertainty as to the nature of these earthworks, the surrounding area is characterised by gravel and marl pits and so may have served a similar such function. The earthworks are visible on Lidar-derived images of 2005.
