A cropmark ditch associated with possible 18th-19th century landscaping is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 and 1947, on Woodbury Common. The partial, circular cropmark measures approximately 24m in diameter and is located in close association with two earthwork mounds recorded to the east and interpreted as the result of modern landscaping. It is possible that the cropmarks recorded here represent the remains of a third, but entirely levelled, earthwork mound. A comparable arrangement of earthwork mounds is recorded at Four Firs approximately 3km to the west. The cropmark ditch was not visible on other aerial photographs or digital images made available to the survey.
