The remains of former field boundaries of probable medieval origin were visible as earthwork ditches to the south of Little Cobden on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2005. One of the earthwork ditches corresponds with a field boundary depicted on the Tithe Map for Whimple. The remaining boundaries were therefore probably removed prior to the 1840s.
Only those elements not depicted on the Ordnance Survey 25 inch first edition map have been transcribed as part of the NMP survey.
The former boundaries may survive as very subtle earthworks.
