Two probable former field boundaries of possible medieval origin were visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s as earthwork ditches to the east of Stillwoods Farm, Rockbeare.
The northernmost earthwork might correspond with a boundary shown on the Tithe Map for Rockbeare. The southern earthwork ditch is roughly parallel, some 40 to 45 metres to the south, but was not depicted on the historic maps available to the survey. Both ditches remained visible on digital images derived from Lidar data captured in 2005 and might therefore survive as sight earthworks.
