The remains of post-medieval to 19th and 20th century ridges made for fruit tree planting and drainage were visible as earthwork banks to the north of Elbury Farm, Broadclyst, on aerial photographs of 2000.
The banks are visible in two areas that fall within the larger extent of an orchard depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25inch map, probably associated with Elbury Farm. One of these areas probably corresponds with an earthwork platform recorded in this vicinity (MDV65188). The orchard remained planted into the 1940s but was cleared in the second half of the 20th century.
The tree planting banks were not visible as earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured in 2005 and may have been levelled.
