The extraction pit is visible as an earthwork pit.

An extraction pit of probable post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the northwest of Woodbury. The earthwork is sub-oval in shape, measures approximately 48m in length by 31m in width and appears to abut, and so post-date a field boundary along its northern edge. The extraction pit also appears to have been accessed via a track-way which leads off from Pound Lane. It remains visible as an earthwork pit on Lidar-derived images captured during 2005.
