An earthwork pit of a possible bomb crater of Second World War date is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, on Colaton Raleigh Common. The sub-circular earthwork measures approximately 13m in diameter and may represent a bomb crater from a German bombing raid deceived by the bombing decoy site located to the immediate north. The earthwork pit remains visible on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2010.
