Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the northwest of Deepway Farm. An orchard is depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s, although by 1946, aerial photographs show that the orchard trees have been largely grubbed up, leaving a series of north to south and east to west aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, visible. These banks occupy an area of approximately 0.82 hectares of gentle to moderate east facing slope within a single plot. The former orchard banks are visible on aerial photographs of 2000.
