BKS Surveys Ltd, 1967, BKS/2822, BKS/2822 V 3037-3038 14-MAR-1967 (Aerial Photograph). SDV354836.

A curvilinear earthwork bank was visible.

Turner, S.C., 2005 - 2006, Devon Historic Landscape Characterisation Mapping (Cartographic). SDV349122.

HLC describes this as as being probably first enclosed with hedge-banks during the later middle ages. The curving form of the hedge-banks suggests that earlier it may have been farmed as open strip-fields.

Next Perspectives, 2010, Aerial Photography for Great Britain, Next Perspectives PGA Imagery SY0298 22-MAY-2010 (Aerial Photograph). SDV356259.

The earthwork bank could not clearly be identified.

Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2014-2015, East and Mid Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV356883.

A former field boundary bank was visible to the east of Hitt’s Farm as a curvilinear earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s and 1960s.
The bank partly corresponds to a field boundary depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25 inch map and was therefore partly removed prior to the 1880s. The relict bank falls within a field pattern characterised as being based on medieval strip fields and is therefore of probable medieval to post-medieval origin. The bank cannot be clearly seen on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2010 and might therefore have been levelled or survive only as a very subtle earthwork.
