An extraction pit of possible post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the west of Bidgood’s Farm. The semi-circular earthwork measures approximately 70m in length by 36m in width and abuts an extant field boundary along its eastern edge, The extraction pit remains visible as a partial earthwork pit, albeit covered with dense tree cover, on Lidar-derived images of 2005.
