Orchards are depicted within the vicinity on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s.

Earthwork banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the west of Woodbury Salterton. The possible 18th-19th century cultivation banks or orchard banks are northeast to southwest aligned and occupy an area of approximately 0.63 hectares of gentle northwest facing slope, within a single rectilinear plot depicted on the First Edition OS map. They remain visible as earthwork banks on Lidar-derived images of 2005.
