An extraction pit of possible post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the southwest of Winkleigh Farm. The oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 36m in length by 35m in width and is visible on aerial photographs up until 1963, having been possibly levelled after this date.
