Summary
Two pale slightly curvilinear cropmarks, visible on aerial photographs taken in 1955, may have formed over the remains of medieval field boundary banks that went out of use prior to the mid-19th century. However they are only clearly visible on a single run of aerial photographs so interpretation is cautious.

Two pale curvilinear cropmarks, circa 2.5 metres wide and 28 metres apart, are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1955. They manifest in a similar way to cropmarks that form over removed field boundary banks, perhaps indicating two medieval or post-medieval field boundaries in this location. No field boundaries are depicted in this location on the Tithe Map, and any boundaries here would have presumably gone out of use prior to the mid-19th century. The southern possible boundary seems to be interrupted by the cropmarks of enclosure MDV59071. This could be interpreted as indicating that the boundary pre-dates and was cut into by this enclosure. However an alternative explanation could be that a later boundary bank overlay the enclosure ditch. When this was removed, the softer soils of the underlying enclosure ditch fills allowed the plough to cut deeper into the remains of the later earthwork bank, exposing the buried ditch fills beneath.
The curvilinear cropmarks are only clearly visible on a single run of aerial photographs so this interpretation is tentative.
