A dark linear cropmark, circa 1 metre wide and aligned roughly east to west, is visible on aerial photographs taken in the summer of 1991. It is better defined than the numerous irregular cropmarks in this field that are likely to be geological in origin, and it may have formed over the remains of an enclosure ditch. No field boundaries are depicted in this location on the available 19th century mapping, although a straight boundary on a similar alignment is depicted in the field immediately to the west. The cropmark is tentatively interpreted as having formed over a post-medieval field boundary ditch that went out of use prior to the mid-19th century. However potential for prehistoric features is demonstrated by the probable prehistoric features in the field to the east, and as the cropmark is visible on so few photographs, interpretation is cautious.
