Probable orchard banks of post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at Crealy Barton. Orchards are depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. Aerial photographs of 1946 up until 1963 show that the orchard trees remain largely intact, although by 1984 these have been completely grubbed out, leaving a series of parallel northeast to southwest aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, visible. The banks occupy an area of approximately 3.10 hectares of gentle southwest facing slope, within two plots located either side of Greendale Lane. The earthwork banks remain visible on aerial photographs of 1984, although have been completely levelled following expansion of Crealy Adventure Park by 2010.
