An orchard is depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s.

A possible quarry of post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at Upham Cottage. The irregular shaped cutting measures approximately 80m in length by 54m in width and appears to predate the site of an orchard which is depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. The possible quarry remains visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 2000.
