Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at White Cross. An orchard is depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. The orchard remains covered with fruit trees on aerial photographs up until 1963, although a series of linear north to south aligned earthwork banks are seasonally visible. The earthworks occupy an area of approximately 0.43 hectares of fairly level land, within a single plot depicted on the First Edition OS map. By 1985, the site has been completely cleared and probably levelled, and the land partly developed.
