Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at Lower Nutwalls Farm. Orchards are depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s, although by 1946, aerial photographs show that the orchard trees have been thinned out, leaving a series of parallel northwest to southeast and northeast to southwest aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, visible. These banks occupy a combined area of approximately 0.78 hectares of gentle northwest facing slope, within two plots either side of Lower Nutwalls Farm. The orchard banks remain partly visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 2000.
