Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at Glebe House. An orchard is depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. Aerial photographs of 1946 show that the site of the orchard is largely covered in trees, although a series of linear earthwork banks are visible. By 1985, these orchard trees have been completely grubbed up. The orchard banks, upon which the fruit trees were established, are north to south aligned and occupy an area of approximately 0.37 hectares of gentle west facing slope, within a single irregular shaped plot depicted on the First Edition OS map. The orchard banks remain visible on aerial photographs of 2000.
